Who we Are:
Our staff has extensive camp training and experience. Our counselors are carefully selected based on hands-on experience with working with children, past employment, outdoor and sports expertise, and energy level. All Tahoe Kids Camp counselors are experienced, knowledgeable, fun loving and energetic. And all counselors are certified in CPR, KAT and MELPD, as well as certified lifeguards.
Nikki & Stephanie Warren, Owners/Founders
Nikki and Stephanie, Owners of Gardnerville Gymnastics, combine 20 years of experience in coaching, fitness, sports and nutrition. Together they founded Tahoe Kids Camp to provide a summer camp experience that changes children's lives. TKC's goal is to help each child develop a love of sports and fitness, appreciation for outdoors and the environment, nutritional awareness, self confidence and self esteem. Through providing an unforgettably fun summer camp experience with the highest quality instruction, equipment, and facilities available, we have achieved our dream of teaching children all over the world to reach for the stars.
Annie "Skipper" Steve
Annie, a sports and nutrition enthusiast, is a campers dream. Annie has over a decade of experience in gymnastics, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, softball, soccer, swimming, skiing, tennis, and mountaineering. After graduating from college, four years in Grand Canyon National Park gave Annie the perfect play ground to develop her outdoor skills. As we all know, nutrition is the key to a healthy athlete, so of course our little sports nut is also a nutritional expert. Annie is HACCP Servesafe certified by the National Food Safety Council and has over five years of experience as head of nutrition at Yavapai, Maswik, and Heavenly Valley Resorts. Annie's dedication to health and fitness, and awesome ability to motivate and inspire children makes her a great roll model for Tahoe Kids Campers.
Michelle "Hollywood" Bennett
"Hollywood" is a true California girl, born and raised. She has her BA in Theater Film and Television from UCLA. Hollywood has stared in commercials for McDonalds and Pepsi, and was a regular in NBC's weekly series "The Yellow Rose". Her heart then lead her to a 12 year career in sales and marketing for non-profit organizations. The outdoors began to call her name about seven years ago and she has lived in Lake Tahoe ever since. Hollywood began instructing snowboarding at Heavenly Ski Resort and received her Level III Certification from the American Certification of Snowboard Instructors. She is currently host of "Another Heavenly Morning" on the Resort Sports Network and skiheavenly.com. Hollywood's awesome high energy and kind heart help her in her commitment to make every camper feel like a star!
Counselor/Rock Climbing Guide - George Hery Sr.
George's bio could go on forever! Some of his qualifications include National Floor Exercise and Vaulting Champion, World Trampoline Champion, the expert on flipping and twisting, international coach and lecturer, Clinic staff for President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and USA Gymnastics National Safety Certifier. George has over 30 years experience in running kids camp and is an expert sports technician, he has dedicated his life to teaching children the joy of sport.
Counselor/Camp Mom - Cynthia Hery
Owner/Director of Gymnastics Nevada. Risk Management/Quality Improvement Coordinator at Barton Memorial Hospital for 10 years. Former elementary physical education teacher in Reno, Nv. Coordinator of Gymnastics for Special Olympics 2001. Cynthia has a great love and talent for working with children with special needs and is a great camp mom for any homesick campers.
Counselor/Gymnastics expert - George Hery Jr.
Ninth in the World on Trampoline, nationally rated judge for the United States Gymnastics Federation, former Elite competitive gymnast, owner/director of Gymnastics Nevada. Head boys competitive team coach at Tahoe Gymnastics for 10 years. George is an awesome coach and a great roll model for our aspiring athletes!
